Kerrygold Blue Cheese

Kerrygold Blue Cheese brings a new and sophisticated taste to the portfolio of Kerrygold cheeses. A rich and distinctive cheese from Ireland, Kerrygold Blue Cheese has a Cheddar base which provides the cheese with its golden color and creamy, rich flavor. The smooth rounded body of a rich Cheddar is infused with the complex bite of a traditional blue cheese. The Cheddar cheese is matured in special ripening rooms for approximately five months, constantly monitored by our cheese graders to ensure it is selected when at its peak. When ready, blue mold is added to the cheese and then matured in small batches to allow the blue veins and unique flavor to develop. The loose texture of the cheese ensures that the blue can migrate throughout the cheese, reaching every nook and cranny, resulting in a delicious blend of smooth Cheddar and earthy blue flavors. A natural edible rind develops on the outer surface during ripening which further deepens the complex range of flavors in each bite of cheese. Kerrygold Blue has a smooth body when young becoming deliciously crumbly in texture as it ages.

Great uses include melted on a steak or tossed in a salad; excellent for cheese boards with raisins and almonds. The texture of the cheese is quite flaky to the knife but still very creamy on the palate.
